The Story Of Mutt City

Started in 2020, Mutt City Grooming was a way for our owners to express their love and compassion for animals, and also their local community.

Dustin and Sarah Smith both own and operate Mutt City Grooming. They have been married seven years, and live in McLean County, Kentucky. In addition to their 5 dogs, they also raise goats, chickens, and horses. No animal is a stranger to either Dustin or Sarah!

Starting Mutt City Grooming has been a long-standing dream of Sarah's. From a lifetime of experience working with and caring for animals, her love and care for each and every animal she meets can be seen through the work she does. For the last 7 years, her professional life has been full-time with animals, ranging from working with rescues, shelters, and grooming. Starting her own grooming studio has allowed her to focus on giving the individual care and attention to each dog that she sees, while bringing her creativity to life. "Fear-Free Grooming" is the basic principle that Sarah set out to focus on, and became the very foundation of Mutt City Grooming.

Dustin Smith

Sharing Sarah's dream, Dustin set out to start Mutt City Grooming as a way to work with the community he loves. Dustin graduated from the University of Louisville in 2007 with a major in Psychology, and has spent the years since working in Madisonville focusing on providing friendly service to his customers in public-facing environments. Growing up on a farm, Dustin has been around animals his entire life, and his compassion for dogs is evidenced by the extra time he takes with all his clients' pets.
